Eric’s message from the Get Onboard Tour programme ... |
| |
Dear Friends,
Indeed, we are all on a journey and sharing my songs with you and having them be a part of your journey’s soundtrack is a great pleasure and blessing for me. The official name of the current phase of my ongoing musical quest is the Get Onboard World Tour ~ featuring songs from the new release of the same title. As I’ve been travelling I’ve discovered that writing and performing songs that focus on our collective desire for peace and harmony in our lives is at the core of my life’s purpose. Words cannot truly express the joy and gratitude I feel taking the stage surrounded by your enthusiastic encouragement and appreciation for my music. For a few magical hours, You (the audience), me, the other musicians and the stage crew connect in some holy fashion that produces something greater than the sum of its parts. That experience is what I mean by the term “being onboard the love train”. It’s what keeps me keepin’ on.
Thank-you for being here with me tonight,
Peace and Love,
Eric

Eric Bibb + Emily Maguire in Timeout
Cool, assured African-American bluesman Bibb is possessed of a strong, pleasant voice and exemplary guitar-picking skills, both of which he delivers with restraint, polish and style.
Supported here by English nu-folk singer-songwriter Maguire singing from her second album, 'Keep Walking' (Shaktu Records).

Gospel-infused bluesman Eric Bibb knocks 'em out
At the Attucks Theatre on Thursday, Eric Bibb sang, "Some days you get diamonds, some days nickels and dimes. Some days are outta tune, some days it all chimes."
That's from his song "Diamond Days." For the few hundred people who turned out to the historic Norfolk theater to see him, Bibb made it a diamond day.

SXSW review: Eric Bibb |
| |
The Smokin’ Music venue across from the Convention Center was apparently some kind of temporary temple to its sponsor, a natural brand of cigarettes, although of course you could only smoke out on the patio. Whatever — acoustic bluesman Eric Bibb turned it into a place of communion during his phenomenal 9 p.m. set Saturday.
